TOM MATASSA
P.T., TPI Certified Level 1, Medical 3
My personal philosophy is simple -- “Getting people back to their best lives.” It’s what I’ve been doing for over 30 years, and it’s the most fulfilling career I could have ever imagined.
During that career, I’ve worked in hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, sports medicine clinics, homecare, and outpatient orthopedics. You don’t do all that without encountering just about every condition imaginable, and a few that were pretty unusual. It’s expanded my expertise in a wide range of injuries and conditions and allowed me to work with people of all ages. I’ve been able to help such a wide-ranging group because I approach each patient as a brand new challenge, for both of us. After all, we’re in this together, and that’s probably the first thing I stress. I’ll work as hard as you will, and together we’ll create a success story with a blend of education, exercise, encouragement and engagement. I’ll educate you about your condition because to be successful you need to understand the “how” and “why” of your treatment.

There’s no getting around it,-- PT means a lot of exercise, here in the office with me and at home on your own. We’ll both work hard to make sure you get the best out of each session, and with my creativity and your feedback we’ll form a therapeutic partnership that will get you the results you expect. A good therapist needs to give strong encouragement, but just as important is being surrounded by others going through their own recovery process. Here, you’ll work side by side with patients at every step - some just starting out, and others who are almost done, and you’ll never be far from an inspiring story.

I believe in having a good time at work, and that means working with patients who are engaged and having a good time themselves. Our atmosphere here is fun, congenial, inventive and very creative. It all comes together to make your experience here positive and successful. It also means doing what you love, and I love golf as much as I love therapy. That’s why I became TPI Certified and now I also train golfers to understand their swing flaws and work to remedy them.
